Life Without Buildings: A San Francisco (Re)Treat: 3

A San Francisco (Re)Treat: 3

a few last random bits. Please excuse the low resolution.

Thomas Mayne's Federal Building. I still don't like Morphosis.

Stanley Saitowitz's Yerba Buena Lofts. A nice looking building that really deserves all the praise it has gotten. It's unfortunate though, that the residents have started to stack things up against the translucent panels. In this photo, it's difficult to tell, but in some cases, junk is stacked to the ceiling behind the glazing. Although less than pristine, I suppose there is some sort of beauty in this sloppy patina.

The Full House! As a child of TGIF, this was pretty damn exciting for me.
oh bittersweet nostalgia.

A random building downtown - near market and montgomery, i think - that was undergoing a restoration of sorts. The shitty 1960's exterior panels were being removed to reveal a beautiful brick facade, complete with ornate stone carvings and engravings. At least I think that's what was happening.
