Outside of the obvious (Alcatraz, Haight/Ashbury, Golden Gate Park w/H&dM's museum under construction, Portman's Embarcadero, Palace of Fine Arts, Botta's Modern Art Museum, etc):
I would check out Stanley Saitowitz's two big housing projects there: 2002 Third Street and Yerba Buena Lofts. They should be easy to find.
There's Julie Morgan's Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland (4499 Piedmont).
FLLW did a store near the main plaza downtown where they filmed The Conversation (love that film). Can't remember the name but it's not hard to find.
And if you're a Hitchcock fan, the church from Vertigo with the blank white wall is a pretty cool place. Mission Delores (324 Dolores at 16th St) is also the oldest existing building in San Francisco.
Life Without Buildings is the love child of James Stamp and a New Orleans summer. It's concerned with all things Architectural, but believes that all things are architectural...at least most things, anyway.
