"Emerging Voices" now heard

The Architect's Newspapaer reports that the Architecture League of New York have announce their latest "emerging voices." For the next four weeks, the recogized firms will be hosting discussion/lecture forums at the Urban Center in New York City. In no particular order, the next big things are:

  • Christoff:Finio Architecture of Manhattan
  • Claude Cormier Architectes Paysagistes, Montreal
  • Freecell of Brooklyn (pictured)
  • OBRA Architects of Manhattan
  • Predock_Frane Architects of Santa Montica
  • Boston based Reed Hilderbrand landscape architecture
  • John Ronan Architect, Chicago
  • SPF:a of Los Angeles.

And from "Eavesdrop," the gossip section of the same paper, I was sad to learn that one-time emerging voice, Open Office, best known for its design of Dia:Beacon, is no more. Partners Lyn Rice and Galia Solomonoff have formed their own offices, Lyn Rice Architects and Galia Solomonoff Architecture, respectively.
