Calatrava Takes the Gold
Briefly:
I've been a little busy lately, and somehow missed this yesterday:
Santiago Calatrava, FAIA, has been selected for the 2005 AIA Gold Medal, the highest honor the AIA confers to an individual. It "recognizes an individual whose significant body of work has had a lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture."
Murphy/Jahn Inc, of Chicago, is the recipient of the AIA 2005 Architecture Firm Award.
Brief backgrounds on Calatrava and and Murphy/Jahn.
and a little commentary via A Daily Dose of Architecture
I'd love to bust a diatribe, but I kind of think he deserves it.
